Using Internet Phone Services

VOIP stands for "Voice Over Internet Protocol" and is the techical term for phone services that you can access through the Internet for much less than the same call would cost on a "land-line."

Probably the most well known service is Skype, which is being used successfully by nonprofits around the world, particularly those with an international presence.

There are some concerns that Skype is a "bandwidth hog," however there is a simple fix that can ensure Skype uses no more bandwidth than other programs.
